Head of Operations
The role:
Dent Reality has an opportunity to define the future of technology interaction. Our team is filled with location, mapping and AR experts, and is led by Andrew Hart, who built the largest open-source project for Apple’s ARKit and Location services, and whose code is used by both Apple and Google Maps.
We're building the “digital layer for the physical world” - technology which powers real-world interactions on future wearable devices. We have a partnership with Marks & Spencer to deploy our unique technology first in their retail stores (check out this 1 min video), and we just raised £2.5m seed funding, which will enable us to begin scaling this to many more stores and retailers.
Our Head of Operations will be responsible for taking care of many operational areas, such as finance, policy, legal, HR, recruiting and office management.
We need someone who can dig in and solve problems across various areas, spearhead new projects, fill in gaps, and flex to changing responsibilities. Someone who might otherwise be a founder themselves! Ultimately, this person should be a force-multiplier for company initiatives.
With future wearable devices - currently being built by Apple, Meta and others - the real world will become filled with rich digital overlays of information. Much like in every sci-fi movie we’ve seen, this new technology will become as useful and dependable as the internet is today.
We’re building the technology layer which integrates with every location, allowing businesses to serve up these digital experiences for every visitor. Whether it’s in retail, or airports, or offices, or museums - our technology will power the next-generation of interaction.
We’re starting today on mobile, and in retail stores, where we can help people to find items in-store - with a map that knows where everything is, and by locating the user with the highest level of precision. Check this video to see how it works:

The challenges here are hard and rewarding. Every day, our team is collaborating across different skill sets to explore new problems and build innovative solutions. If you’re passionate, driven and looking for the opportunity to have a huge impact solving hard problems, we want to speak to you.
What type of person are we looking for?
We're looking for someone with previous early-stage startup experience, who might even have considered being a founder themselves. We need someone who knows the grind, and is highly driven and resourceful. Someone passionate about diving into problems they might have never seen before, figuring them out and delivering a result.
Someone with strong initiative and independence. And someone who believes in our mission and is excited about the opportunity to make significant change in the world.
We're fairly open when it comes to previous experience - when you apply, we'll have open conversations to make sure it's a good fit. Here are some examples of experience you might have:
- Operations/Chief of Staff at a previous company
- Previously working at an early-to-mid stage startup
- Demonstrated experience handling unknown areas, taking initiative to solve hard problems, removing roadblocks enabling others to move forward
- Working on areas of Finance, Legal (contracts, trademarks, funding etc.) and HR
- Working closely with product/technology teams
